Growing Communities is your local,
non-profit veg bag scheme.

We are not just a vegetable retailer, we are part of a food movement; delivering food that’s healthier, fresher and better for the community, planet and our bodies. We work with local farmers (and pay them fairly) to make organic fruit and vegetables available to conscious and conscientious households across South London.

TESTIMONIALS

"I wanted you to know that my son is a very picky eater and we have not been able to get him to eat anything other than chicken nuggets and the occasional McDonalds burger. However, we used the vegetables we got from you to make a soup and he actually asked us what it was. He often does this, so we did not think anything of it. He asked to try some, and he loved the soup and ate basically the whole batch!! We finally found a way to get him exactly what he needed! Bear in mind, we’ve made soup before and he had no interest."

Purple bag

"The veg bag made my day!! I'm really impressed by the veg. They're how veg ought to be - straight from the soil and British weather and tended by sturdy hands. They make supermarket offerings look wispy and anaemic in comparison! The variety was great too. When did I last have broad beans, which are totally unavailable from retail? Munch crunch on the lettuce, fennel and carrots."

Yellow bag

"I meant to reply to this earlier to say HOW MUCH I LOVE MY VEG BAG. It hasn't replaced our vegetable shop at Lidl (which is shamefully unseasonal) but is in addition, so we are just eating way more vegetables. I am also just weaning a 6 month old so it feels lovely to be mashing a really top quality turnip for her. I even love the process of going to collect the vegetables with the older children, they find it really funny that they are just waiting for us in a locked box. Well done, great work."
